Groups associated to the ZOQ

Currently, the following research groups are associated to the Center for Optical Quantum Technologies:

Nachwuchsgruppe Frühling

Ultrafast X-ray physics

Atom optics

The group studies the interaction between light and matter at ultralow temperatures. The focus is on quantum gases in optical lattices and high finesse optical cavities.

Nachwuchsgruppe Kränkel

Solid state laser development

Many-body theory of ultra-cold atom systems

The main focus of the research group is the theory of ultracold atoms, with particular emphasis on many-body effects.

Quantum Theory of Condensed Matter

Fundamental Processes in quantum Physics
The group focuses on several aspects of ultracold atomic and molecular systems which have received major attention during the past years and introduce additional flexibility and diversity to the area of ultracold physics in general.

Quantum Gases and Spectroscopy
The main foci of the research group are ultra-cold quantum gases in optical lattices, high precision spectroscopy and fiber laser development.

Scanning Probe methods
The research group is working on scanning probe techniques in cryostatic environments. Together with the group of Prof. Sengstock, feasibility studies on merging the field of nono-mechanics with ultra-cold atoms are currently performed.
